Denmark Raises Retirement Age

Saturday, 24 May, 2025104 words2 minutes
Denmark is making a big change. The country will raise the age when people can retire. By 2040, people will work until they are 70 years old. This is the highest retirement age in Europe.
The Danish government passed a new law. It says the retirement age will go up slowly. It will be 68 in 2030, then 69 in 2035. Finally, it will reach 70 in 2040. This change will affect people born after December 31, 1970.
Some people are not happy about this. They think it's too hard to work for so long. Others say it's needed because people live longer now.
