Philippine Court Recognizes Property Rights for Same-Sex Couples

The Philippine Supreme Court made an important decision. Same-sex couples can now own property together.

The court looked at a case about two women. They bought a house together. Later, they wanted to sell it. But one woman said no. The other woman went to court. She wanted to divide the property.

The Supreme Court said both women own the house. They both paid money for it. The court used a special law. This law helps people who live together but cannot marry. The court said this law is for everyone, not just men and women.
