Mondelez, the company that makes Oreo cookies, is launching a new product in the United States. Starting in January, they will sell Oreo Zero Sugar and Oreo Double Stuf Zero Sugar cookies. This is the first time sugar-free Oreos will be available in the US.
The company says that consumers are looking for what they call 'mindful indulgence.' This means people want to enjoy treats but also want them to be healthier. Other companies have noticed this trend too. Coca-Cola and Hershey have already introduced sugar-free versions of their popular products.
Mondelez spent four years developing these new cookies. They wanted to make sure the sugar-free Oreos taste just like the original ones. The new cookies use different sweeteners instead of sugar to keep the sweet taste people love.
